Stampin' Up! has also honored their commitment of updating the color palette every 3-5 years.  It has been 3 years since we went through the last big color change and I must say that I am very happy with the colors they have added and changed.  While we always miss some of the colors it is fun to start using the new colors!

Oh my goodness!

Where has the time gone?  I cannot believe I will be going back to school in 5 days... I don't even feel like I've had a break.  This last month has been so busy.  The first week I was off from school I was busy finishing up my Christmas baking and getting prepared for Christmas.  The second week off all of my family was home so we were busy spending time with the kids as well has traveling to see relatives and had company at our house.  This week one of my kids has been sick.  Needless to say I'm just trying to keep up with everything.  I am certainly thankful that I didn't have school because I don't know how I would have kept up!

where have I been???

I apologize that I haven't been keeping up with blogging in the last week or two.  I have been busy with multiple birthday's in our house as well as looking at finals for school and completing projects, papers, etc.  I think within the next week I should be able to get back to it as most of my tests and papers are due by the 13th of December.

I'm itching to get back to my stamping desk that's for sure!

It's Mario Time

Our son is turning 7 in a couple weeks and originally asked for a Pirate Party, then it was Angry Birds (to which I thought GREAT because I have a bunch of ideas) and then he finally decided on a Mario birthday party.  I checked out our Stampin' UP! demonstrator website to see what others have created for a Mario birthday card or invitation and while some people had good ideas I just didn't love any of them.  So I scoured the web and pinterest and still didn't get much for ideas.  There were some pictures of the original Super Mario Bros game on Pinterest and that is where my inspiration came from.

It was a moderate amount of work, definitely not the hardest card I've ever made (I had to make 15 of them and needless to say my family is going to get an e-mail with a picture of the card as an invitation!) but it was worth it when he got home from school today and said "Mom, that's totally awesome."

And so without further ado...

I think it turned out really good.  Now I have to figure out how to make the cake!

I had planned to post a picture of a card made with the "Blue Ribbon" set that is on sale until November 28th yesterday.  Well, when my husband got home from work he said he had to go help a friend skin his deer.  By the time I got the kids in bed I was so tired I decided to go to bed myself!  Here is the long awaited card...

Now, I know it is a more manly card but it is perfect for my husband's birthday which is coming up in a couple weeks.  I'll be sure to post a more "cute" card soon!  It's always nice to have a man card idea in your back pocket anyway!
