I have a lot of Stampin' Up! designer series paper and I like to try to find a way to use it up... I have found that it is very nice for making multiple cards that are similar but then use different sentiments.  They are nice to give as a set for a gift or to use when I need a card with short notice.

    best grandma ever

I have the best grandma ever!  She lives in Indiana and typically when she comes to visit she will stay for a month at a time.  Well, this last time she was here she was such a huge help for me and my family.  I'm going to school for my RN so trying to find time for family, friends, hobbies, going to my son's 3rd grade football games and studying is difficult along with getting housework and laundry done.

My grandma, bless her heart, has come in to town once a week to get our kids off the bus and do some housework and laundry.  There are no words to express how much it has helped me out other than "Thank You."

I think she'll like this card.  I need to stop and get her a little gift card too.  She and a friend always like to go to iHop to eat out but we don't have one here in Bemidji so I may have to opt for a Walmart or Target gift card.

    Recipe
stamps:  Betsy's Blossoms, Itty Bitty Banners
paper:  whisper white, comfort cafe DSP
ink:  cajun craze, midnight muse, soft suede
    accessories:  bitty banners framelits

    cutie patootie penguin

I just love this little penguin!  I have a feeling I'll be making many cards with this cute little set!

Now, I wanted to share a comparison with you as well.  I don't know if you remember in a post a week or two ago how I said my black ink wasn't working so well.  Now, my penguin is cute in this picture but wait until you see my penguin using the new and improved SU black ink pad...
The black is so crisp and so clear!  That is one thing that has always bothered me about stamps that are more "filled in" with rubber is that I can never seem to get a nice, even image.  Well, with the new stamp pads it doesn't look like that will be a problem!

    Recipe
    stamps:  no peeking
paper:  very vanilla, garden green, real red, retired DSP
ink:  basic black stamp pad, real red marker
accessories:  Designer Frames embossing folder, extra large oval punch, very vanilla grosgrain ribbon, scalloped border punch, paper piercing tool

    you send me soaring

simple and fun...  This is another one of those sets that I just had to have but hadn't really had time to sit down and do anything with it.  It is amazing how much life can "get in the way" at times.  I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!

    recipe
    stamps:  Send me Soaring
paper:  whisper white, baja breeze, rich razzleberry, floral district
    ink:  rich razzleberry, baja breeze
accessories:  scalloped circle punch, scalloped oval punch, 1 3/8 in circle punch, 1 1/4 in circle punch, small oval punch, baja breeze double stitched grosgrain ribbon, top note die

    oh baby!

It's always nice to have an assortment of baby cards on hand.  I've used up most of the baby cards that I made over the last 6 months - either to put with a gift or to say congratulations.  This one is cute and simple!

    Recipe
    stamps:  punches three
paper:  whisper white, chocolate chip, melon mambo, floral district DSP
    ink:  chocolate chip
accessories:  melon mambo scallop dots ribbon, Designer Frames textured impressions embossing folder, extra large oval punch, corner rounder punch

one more card to celebrate summer

This weekend I made a few cards and will be sharing them with you over the next few days.  I like when I can sit down and get a few cards done to put in my "stash" so if something comes up unexpectedly I am prepared.

I purchased the Sunny Fun set quite some time ago and haven't really sat down to play with it.  I LOVED the set but after I got it there just seemed to be too much work involved so it has been sitting (sadly) on my shelf collecting dust.

After I finished this card I thought... why haven't I done something with it sooner?!?  The card is just adorable!

I used stickles for some of my glitter (the bomb pop, and yellow popsicle), I used dazzling diamonds for my polka dots, and then I used flocking for the orange creme and what I thought looked like sno-cones.  I think it is just a fun, cheery card that would brighten anyone's day!

    recipe
    stamps: Sunny Fun
paper:  tangerine tango, daffodil delight, summer smooches DSP, whisper white
    ink:  basic black
accessories:  island indigo baker's twine, scallop circle punch, paper piercing tool, flocking, stickles, dazzling diamonds glitter, simply scored

    picture coming soon...

I got to sit down and make a few cards this weekend.  I will have a new post with pictures for you soon.  I just need to take the time to get the photos and download them.  I'm hoping to get to this tonight so check back tomorrow!
