Are you wondering where I'm at?!?

I truly hope that by this time next week I will actually have a post for you with a picture of something beautiful I've created.  Baseball is done next week.  My class is done next week.  Maybe then I can find some time in my stamping space!
Don't lose hope!  I'll be back on track soon...

Goodbye June!

I honestly do not know where the month of June went.  Between my husband being out of town for two weeks, my grandma being here for 3 weeks, my class and the start of baseball I haven't had any time to blog let alone make any cards!

My sister did ask me to make some baby shower invitations for her friend Manisha so I have that project to work on and and as soon as I get one of them done I'll post a picture.

Today is the last day of the "we {heart} our hostesses" promotion.  You can view the flyer here.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to e-mail or call me!

where has the week gone?

Well, it has proven to be another busy week for me and my family.  My husband is still out of town so I've been doing all the parenting duties, plus working, while keeping the house running as smoothly as possible.  My Grandma is here this week from Indiana and she has helped me immensely - taking care of the boys while I'm at work, helping with dishes and cleaning, etc.

Needless to say I have not had a moment to get down to my stamping desk at all this week.  Hopefully next week will get back to a little bit more of the "norm" around here.  We haven't had the whole family home since school got out so we have to figure out what our normal will be for summer.

In addition to working this weekend my sister and her boyfriend are coming to visit.  It will be nice to see them again.  We have actually gotten to see a lot of each other the last couple months and I truly cherish the time I get to spend with her.  Now if my sister from Utah could only join us... we would feel complete.

Anyway, just wanted to apologize again for not posting any new cards.  Life has just "happened" this week and I'm going with the flow!  I hope to post a Father's Day card sometime this weekend!

It's been awhile!

1.  My husband has been out of town all week.
2.  Baseball started for the boys and we were in town for that each day so far.
3.  My grandma was supposed to be here Tuesday evening but didn't arrive until tonight.
4.  Packing and preparing to go out of town.
5.  Hot and Humid here in Northern MN = spending time outside in the water with the boys.

Just a list of a few reasons why I haven't had a chance to blog at all this week.  I made up a couple of cards tonight - one for my dear friend who is getting married this weekend and one for another dear friend who had a baby on May 30th.  I had already sent her a little gift and card but I get to see her and the baby tomorrow!  And I have a few more presents so I figured another card was in order.

I'll be gone all weekend and then I work a full time hours next week in addition to carting the boys back and forth to baseball and I need to get some studying done.  I'm working on a class this summer that will count towards my degree as an RN.

I really hope to get back to my stamping desk soon... I have some fun new things that are waiting for me that I haven't hardly had time to play with!

Have a fabulous weekend!

The New catalog unveiled!

Well, I had a busy weekend.  Work was crazy on Saturday and I had to stay over to work a double shift.  Whew!  I'm glad the weekend is done... most people don't say that.  Now I'm on my own.  My husband is out of town all week working and I'm home alone with the kids.  They will be busy because baseball starts this week.  My Grandma is coming to help me out this week and next week so it will be fun when she arrives on Tuesday.

I'm having some technical difficulties getting my link to work for the catalog on my sidebar so if you would like to view the NEW catalog in PDF you can click here.

If you are interested in hosting a party so you can earn some of the fabulous new items you can contact me!  We can do an in-home party or a book party.  PLUS Stampin' Up! is doing a promotion for hostesses for the months of June & July!!!  You can earn up to $115 in free product.  Let me know if you want more details.

I hope you have fun looking at the new catalog.  I hope to get the rest of my local customer catalogs out this week.  Everyone who lives out of town and has ordered from me in the last year should have received your catalog by now.

Hopefully everyone can enjoy the rest of their Sunday evenings before the work week starts for most of you!

The final day

Today is the last day that you can purchase retiring stamp sets and accessories.  If there is something you just need to have you can shop now.

The card I'm posting today was for my brother-in-law.  I made it over a month ago.  We went to see him for his birthday and I forgot the card at home.  Well, I was going through a stack of papers on my stamping desk and guess what I came across?!?  His birthday card!  I figure that it is so cute I had to post it before I mail it!
I didn't have the best light when I took the picture so there is some shadowing but you can get the general idea.  I CASE'd this card from another demo but unfortunately don't remember her website.  I added my own little touches but I thought it was too fun not to post.  I just love how the bear looks like he has broken through the paper.  The bear is from a retiring set called "Under the Stars"

I haven't played with water coloring in a long time and when I made this card I decided to do that with the bear.  I used Stampin' Up!'s water color paper and it is such a great material.  I think that is why I never really did much with water colors before - because I didn't have the right paper.

A little bit about water coloring:  you always want to use staz on ink for your images otherwise your image will run with the water.  A little goes a long ways so start light with your colors and if you want it to be darker you can always do a second pass.  The water color paper from Stampin' Up! works like a charm!  I used my classic ink pads and my aqua painter to do the water color however Stampin' Up! has many tools you can use for water coloring.  Want to know more?  Send me an e-mail!

Well, here's the recipe:
stamps: under the stars, birthday greetings
paper: baja breeze, soft suede, whisper white, water color paper
ink:  bashful blue, old olive, chocolate chip, soft suede, jet black staz on
accessories:  decorative label punch, aqua painter, sponge
